These are the folk music sessions around Magandjin (BNE) that I like to attend!
Brisbane's Friday night Sea Shanty and Folk Song Session! We meet on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month at the The Rose and Crown in South Bank.
Whether you'd like to lead a song, join in on the choruses or just listen, you're sure to have a rollicking good time!
We start gathering at 7pm for a 7:15pm start.
Join us on the third Wednesday of the month for a sea shanty singing session at Gilhooley's in the city.
Unlike our stage shows, these sessions are an informal singing circle - no instruments, no amplification - just us and the call of the sea! So pull up a chair and join us belting out all yer favourite salty songs a cappella over a pint.
Bring a shanty to share. Sea songs, land shanties and other folk songs are welcome; scallywags and scoundrels are not.
